Liner Notes

On Friday March 31st, 2016, Jason Tribiano brought his recording equipment to my teaching studio in the Snug Harbor Cultural Center on Staten Island to record my third album. We decided to use my Tom Humphrey classical guitar. I was originally a classical guitar student of Leonid Bolotine and I used this guitar for my New York debut in 1985. In my twenties I got really turned on to jazz music and moved on to study with Peter Prisco.

I currently consider myself a jazz musician but I still enjoy playing the classical repertoire. Starting off the record is some John Dowland, who was an improvisor, and then onto some tunes from the great American songbook. I like the results of using my classical guitar technique on this collection, I hope you do too.
